Mrs. Stoner's Hand-Knit Hats

When we received a beautiful hand-knit cotton cap as a baby gift from our oldest
son's school librarian, we noticed two things: 
    ~he wore it all the time--indoors, outdoors...fall, winter, spring and summer
    ~he got compliments on it everywhere we went!

The only thing to do was to ask Mrs. Stoner if we could make her wonderful knits
available through Mommy Gear.  We're so happy she said yes!

P.S. This cutie pie is our third son, Miles at 7 months.  He's such a happy baby,
        we call him "Smiles."

A Note from Mrs. Stoner...

My mother taught me to knit when I was a seventh grader and my first project was a soft plum colored
saddle shoulder pullover. Keeping the knit stitches separate from the purl was difficult at first. I
remember that she took me to the fabric store and we picked a wool plaid material to match that she
made into a pleated skirt.

I've knitted caps, socks, sweaters and mittens as gifts for my school students over the past 25 years
and for family members and friends with babies.  It is fun and gratifying to see the kids wearing the caps
as they jump off the school bus or when I receive a photo of all of them playing in the snow, wearing the
tossel caps.

My former student, Linda, now has 6 children and they all show off their caps in the yearly Christmas
newletter she sends to friends.

My goal in knitting for "customers" is be to know that the warmth and love of hand knits will be passed
to a new generation of cozy heads.  I hope you pass them on to your baby's baby!
