If you are a stay at home mom, or work a 1/2 day a single breastpump may fit into your lifestyle. Single pumps empty one breast at a time. Manual breastpumps do not require electricity or batteries. An added bonus--they're quiet!
Here's a tip: Try nursing on one side and pumping on the other. Your let-down will be quicker and milk production higher. Plus your sitting down to nurse anyway, so you'll save time.
Tip #2: If you are going to be using a single pump to occasionally empty both breasts, we recommend alternating sides. Instead of pumping one side for 10 minutes and switching to the other for 10 minutes, try pumping one side for 5 minutes or so. Then switch to the other side for 5 minutes. Pump the first side for about 3 minutes and then switch to the other side for about 3 minutes. Pump the first side for a few more minutes until the milk stops flowing and then do the same on the last side. Most moms produce more milk in less time using this technique.
